The function of splitting the text into several columns will help to distribute the entire volume of the page. And with the help of customizing the size of the fields, you can fit more information on one sheet.
The whole point of creating such a cheat sheet comes down to the correct arrangement and formatting of text on a sheet. In the end, you will have a file that you can open in your smartphone or print on a printer.
Thanks to the instructions below, you can have an almost imperceptible, small, and convenient cheat sheet.
Decrease font size
Let us proceed from the fact that you already have the text of the cheat sheet. The first thing you need to do is select it. Use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + A" or select the entire text with the mouse cursor.
Change the font size by setting the desired value in the "Font" section. The normal size is 7-8 points, however you can choose any other.
Changing margins and page orientation
Click the Page Layout tab. In the "Page Setup" section , open the Fields tool. Select "Custom Fields" .
In the Page Settings window, in the Fields section, change the values for the top, left, bottom, and right fields. Word even allows you to set zero size values, but you shouldn’t. If your printer cannot print borderless on A4 paper, part of the page will be cut off. To avoid this, set values equal to 1 centimeter.
Below, in the "Orientation" section, set the "landscape" page orientation. Click OK .
Indent reduction
Without removing the selection of all text, go to the paragraph settings. In the "Paragraph" block on the "Home" tab , click on the icon with an arrow in the lower right corner of this block. In the open window, find the "Indent" section. Select “First line:” - “Indent” and set the value of the adjacent field to 0.25 cm.
In the “Interval” section , set the “Before” and “After” values to “0 pt” , and in the “Inter-line:” field , set to “Single” . After that, apply all actions by clicking on the "OK" button .
Column Splitting
Open the Page Layout tab again. In the "Page Setup" section , find the "Columns" tool. In the list, select "Other columns ..." .
In the “Columns” window , change the value in the “Number of columns” row. The best option is selected depending on the font size. In the Width and Spacing block , decrease the number in the Gap field. It corresponds to the distance that will be added between your columns. Acceptable gap is 0.5 cm. Click OK to apply the changes.
For a more convenient cutting of cheat sheets, select the "Separator" box.
Print Cheat Sheets
Print the document on the printer by opening the "File" tab and selecting the "Print" item. If you do not have a printer, save your document on removable media (USB flash drive) and contact the copy center.
Fast to make, with good quality text, such a cheat sheet will help you to pass an exam or write a test.
